The model is borrowed from Mendes, P. [7]. Figure 6-17 depicts a branched metabolic pathway controlled by a signal metabolite through an enzyme cascade. The model can be subdivided in two parts: metabolism and signalling.
According to it, one can see that kinase1 quickly becomes 99.9% phosphorylated, kinase2 takes a little while longer to become 90.8% phosphorylated and enzyme-a is slower increasing its concentration but after 2.3 second it has not yet saturated (and is already 97.2% of the total). |
