3. Quick Tour of Cellware
Cellware consists of a Modelling Component, the Application Component and the Simulation Component. The Modelling Component includes tools for model description, definition and construction. The Application Component provides tools to define the behaviour of the model, and the Simulation Component describes various simulation algorithms and interfaces.

3.1 Graphical User Interface

Figure 3-1 illustrates the Cellware Graphical User Interface (GUI). Cellware consists of several tools for building and simulating cell models. These are:

  1. Project Toolbox - Create new project, save project and open existing project.
  2. Species Toolbox - Create new species.
  3. Reaction Toolbox - Create new reactions.
  4. Edit Toolbox - Standard functions like copy, cut, paste, print, undo/redo, zoom in/out/fit, changing font, colour etc.
  5. Simulation Toolbox - To start/stop simulations and generate experiment results.
  6. Project Browser - Overview of project workspace.
  7. Modelling Canvas - Workspace for construction of cell models
